Found primarily in the Near East and South Asia, mitochrondrial haplogroup R0a (formerly named pre-HV1) began approximately 25,000 years ago and is part of the macrohaplogroup N. R0a occurs in highest frequencies and is most widespread in southern Arabia (Yemen), including the island of Soqotra. Smaller frequencies of R0a are found in northern Africa and the Horn of Africa (Ethiopia, Sudan, Tunisia, Somalia, and Morocco), South Asia, and Europe. Future work will better resolve the distribution and historical characteristics of this haplogroup.

"pre-HV1" - это что,  предшествующая HV1???
