Well now, that is important information.  That suggests your Y-DNA is traceable to the Carpathians or Transylvania.

No L1189 cases have been found in that area, only ZS3202.

Thanks for that information.

Well, I've got an answer: "Y-DNA SNP ZS3202 is not available for purchase"
I see the M8963 SNP in the list ($39). Is it ZS3202?
Let's wait for L1189 resulty (negative, I guess) and I'll order the M8963 test.

But FTDNA's analysis of BigY results is useless now.  And it looks like the FTDNA J1 Project is dead, so no more analysis there either.

Will Yfull ever be able to analyze BigY results like it used to do?

Jim, that's possible, but we need to invite more people to YFull M267 tree just provided they preliminary tested BigY and FTDNA  will allow BAM download. Certainly we all have to protest and claim it to FTDNA.

The Shanchev in Ukraine, do they live near the Carpathian Mountains?

The surname more likely sounds as Bulgarian one.in my thoughts.

Ukrainian Shanchevs live close to Azov sea. Their ancestor Schantz came from Prussia - their version. But I guess he could be from Bulgaria, because Bulgarian colonists arrived at the same time.

Да, причём в огромых количествах, особенно беженцы после антиосманскийх восстаний - множество переселенцев  поступало на службу в российскую армию и в том числе Слободские казачьи полки.

Yes, M8963 and ZS3202 are the same, or close enough.  You can see them in the same box on the J1 tree (no longer updated) at http://genogenea.com/J-M267/tree

Underneath the ZS3202 box are two branches.  85654 is me.  221414 is Pogorilyak, a Carpathian Ukrainian.  We have been separate for 1,691 years, approximately.

If you tested negative for both M8963 and L1189, you would know you are a third branch of BY-69, related to the others 7,635 years ago.  Separated during the Neolithic era.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Ok, let's move step by step:
1) L1189 test, if negative
2) M8963 test, If negative
3) Big Y
I guess my initial version of migration in 1840s from Bulgaria via  Azov coast and then in 1880s to Kursk region (former Orel province) is unrealistic. My grandpa  had to mention something or had some evidences of Bulgarian root.  Just 2-3 generations for everything to be forgotten.
The alternative version of Vlach ancestor looks more reasonable (if the L1189 will be negative and M8963 / ZS3202 will be positive). Vlach territory belonged to Bulgaria and then neighbored in the south. So my ancestor could have Bulgarian surname (Shanchev). A lot of vlachs & moldavans fled with their leader Dmitrie Cantemir (Ottoman threat) and settled in south boarder Orel-Kursk to protect south Russia from Crimean Tatars. There was a hussar regiment of vlach only in 1740s in Russian army. 250-300 years is enough to forget everything and become native Russian. No cultural barrier for assimilation: Orthodox & Cyrillic

I hope that in the next year, Yfull will be able to analyze FTDNA BigY results again.  FTDNA's own BigY analysis is useless now.

Ftdna has just changed my terminal haplogroup from zs3128 to Y81244. Yfull also found this as terminal SNP, but it isn't included in their ytree yet.
Ftdna's bigY pages seem broken, as it states there are noone else sharing my group even with 1189... So did this happened to any other member?

BigY500 Results are hard to understand.  On your matches page, as you go up the "steps" or "tree" you must have matches at some level.  Click on the silhouette.  What are the names of your closest matches?

Maybe it just takes some more time for the algorhytms, to categorize my results I literally get no matches even on BY69 level. However I could check my matches in the classic y-dna pages, where I used to have some on 12 markers.
Out of them Correira also had his BigY test, and we both used to be ZS3128. Now his terminal SNP is ZS6908, so it seems our branches separated.

Go to the J1 Project SNP page.  371964 Makarov is J-Y81244 like you.

Yes, Makarov is Y81244+ just like you. Makarov's number at YFull is id:YF10154. Have you got the information from YFull about your shared SNPs with Makarov according to your VCF results?

Correira also had his BigY test, and we both used to be ZS3128. Now his terminal SNP is ZS6908, so it seems our branches separated.

Looks like there is somebody in ZS3128 we don't know yet who has made the Big Y test and shared some SNP(s) with Correia. We should invite Correia to YFull. He had his BAM file before FTDNA stopped issuing them so he seems to be able to get it from FTDNA. As well as we should try to find the person who has shared ZS6908 with Correia if he really exists, of course.

Do I take it right that yfull only does TMRCA calculation with .bam files? Or should I just wait for the next y tree update, and they'll do the calculation with the cluster of Makarov and mine?

Is there any other Way to do TMRCA calculation with bigY? I used our 111marker results from the J1project, and the result was something like 1900ybp. Is that correct or I did some mistake?

(On yfull's matches page, As we're still assumed zs3128, the tmrca says 3200ybp)
