Regarding this issue, as we are not SNP specialists, we are unable to analyze SNP results or recommend individual SNP tests or SNP Pack testing.

http://forum.molgen.org/index.php/topic,4609.msg409001.html#msg409001

Thanks Yaroslav for the invitation and greetings to everyone. I used to participate on the anthrogenica boards, but discussion there died a while ago about z1828. Since then I've been following this thread too, but I'm no expert of course on the theme. Hopefully the data could be of any sort of help in the research, we'll see.

So as you already know, my haplogroup is zs3128. Pecoraro Velardi and Correira were my closests relatives according to ftdna on 12str which is not quite a recent relation.
My farthest known ancestor is Mathias R. 1682-1764, probably arriving from Pfalz-Neuburg. The family name can be traced back to the 15th century, probably originating at the northern edge of the high alps, Bern, Luzern area. Earliest mention is 1433 Baden, Switzerland.

Hi Berengar! Welcome to Molgen! :) We all are not experts here but just the people sharing and discussing here the information on the subject.

So as you already know, my haplogroup is zs3128. Pecoraro Velardi and Correira were my closests relatives according to ftdna on 12str which is not quite a recent relation.

By the way Correira has also got his Big Y results in the beginning of 2017. But unfortunately he hasn't sent his BAM to YFull yet. That's why we don't know yet his exact phylogenetic position downstream ZS3128. When V. Mas was still active in his taking care of the J1 project and the J1 tree I heard from him about Correira's sharing some SNPs with Rusi from Albania, as far as I remember, thus making a subclade with him downstream ZS3128.

If I am not wrong the majority of ZS3128 people is of the Eastern Slavic origin. We have got now 2 known distinct branches with the Eastern Slavs on them: 1) the branch with the well seen by the STRs cluster of Vysotskiy, Pogrebnoy, Kosilov, Kaznacheyev, Z. (whose ancestry comes from the Kursk region of Russia) etc. and 2) the branch with the lonely for today Makarov from Perm region of Russia.

I think it could slightly suggest the Eastern European origin of the ZS3128 most recent common ancestor.

Generally according to the ages and the geography the L1189 migration to Europe along with R1b was suggested here 4 years ago which seems to me a nice explanation of L1189 spread all over the Europe.

If you have a look at the J1 project results table you can notice there two interesting confirmed ZS3128+ samples from the Middle East: one Kurdish from Iraq and another Arabic from the Saudi Arabia. It's a pity we don't know yet their phylogenetic position within the ZS3128 subclade, what is the their TMRCA interval with the European ZS3128s. My preliminary thought I have today is to check if they could be a back to the Mjddle East migration case along with R1a-Z93 migration to the Middle East.

Actually the majority are not Eastern Slavic.  Only 4 of 16 cases.

ZS3128 originated during the Bronze Age, c3100 years ago.  Because of Mosjidis, I guess it originated down near his area, near the Sea of Marmara.

Even the subgroup with Mosjidis and Edens of England is that old.  So I guess ZS3128 has been spreading since the Bronze Age.

Yes, maybe you are right, I will check again.

But I think you have missed two persons since I have counted 6 people:

1. Vysotskiy.

2. Pogrebnoy

3. Kosilov.

4. Kaznacheyev.

5. Z.

6. Makarov.

The persons above make about 37,5% (6/16).

Because of Mosjidis, I guess it originated down near his area, near the Sea of Marmara.

Jim, why do you think of Mosjidis being a key person in defining the ZS3128 homeland?

I can't find yet the archeological traces of Anatolian-Balkan migration with the following spread all over Europe.

I think the migration along with R1b (with the Indo-Europeans) all over the Europe could explain well the L1189 spread all over Europe.

ZS3128 originated during the Bronze Age, c3100 years ago. Even the subgroup with Mosjidis and Edens of England is that old.  So I guess ZS3128 has been spreading since the Bronze Age.

Yes, I agree with you.

16 could be a pretty decent number, but how many of them have had bigY or similar tests? Does it worth trying to contact them maybe and ask them to upload to yfull or their contacts are hidden?

As far as I remember the following ZS3128 guys made the Big Y:

ZS3128+

1. 181880 Vysotskiy.

2. 371964 Makarov.

3. 316855 Rusi.

4. 636364 Ringeisen.

5. 447510 Correia.

ZS3128+ ZS5318+

6. 108678 Edens.

7. 164954 Mosjidis.

Correia, Edens and Mosjidis are absent at YFull.

Hi Jim!
I really think and Yaroslav does the same that a few cases not still having the BigY also belong to ZS3128.

I thought 268349 Kosilov had J1 SNP Pack results.

He is now showing as J-M267 in red with no SNP results at all.
