23andme запустила бета-версию новой фичи -Ancestry Finder.
По замыслу авторов, эта фича должна существенно облегчить анализ этнического расклада генетических кузенов.
The feature is being beta tested right now. I have been given the opportunity to be one of the beta test subjects. Here is how it works.
This is not a RF function and it appears to be working with some folks who are not sharing with me.
Matches to individuals on each chromosome show up; however, no identifying information is provided. The information deals with the submitted family ancestry data that members provide. All the person who uses this feature sees the chromosome, the number of cM shared, and the nationality/country of origin of the other subject's grandparents.
This provides the participant with info about others with whom they are matching.
Since the data that is returned is subject to the accuracy of the person providing the info - it may not be entirely correct; however, with that said, it would be just as correct as if you contacted the person directly and they told you what they believed their ancestry to be.
