I live in Montreal, Canada. I am born the same year as you, 1964. My parents immigrated to Canada from Crete, Greece in the 1960's. As far as I know, my ancestors are Greek.
From a historical perspective ancient Greece stretched from France, (marseilles) to the Ukraine, (sevastopol) and even Afghanistan. I even heard that the town Kandahar may even be derived from Alexander.
I have heard that J1 may have been neolithic farmers that entered Europe.
You can also compare with George Castel. He is also J1. He is from Crete Greece and is my 10th cousin. He is sharing genes on chromosome 12 with me.
This is quite a mystery.
